I realize that when I posted this news, I was on a plane and had seconds to go before I had to shut off my iPhone, and it may not have seemed like I was too thrilled. You all should know:
I FUCKING GOT IN TO JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY’S MA IN MUSEUM STUDIES PROGRAM!!!! WOOT!!!!
I start this Fall. The program is 90% online, so I can stay here in Ithaca and do it, or do it from wherever me move to, if we decide to go somewhere after my wife finishes her A exams for her PhD, meaning she’ll be ABD (All But Dissertation). I have five years to finish it, and I’m hoping to finish it when my wife finishes her PhD, so we can look for jobs together in another locale.
The new plan: Operation West Coast. We’re fairly certain that we want to wind up somewhere on the West Coast. Not sure exactly where yet, but let’s just say that we REALLY like the Pacific Ocean. Just got back this morning from a week long trip out to California. I grew up out there, and I really want to get back there.
It’s awesome to have this new goal.
