I made beer
It worked this time. Pumpkin Ale. Oh, not only did it work, but it is FUCKING DELICIOUS! I had a friend who tried it yesterday tell me they would buy it. Also, I still haven’t gotten the hang of reading the hydrometer, so I don’t know for sure, but my best guess is the ABV is about 7-8%. So yes, pretty strong, though the taste wouldn’t tell you that. It’s really...

Job, Job, Job...
I had a phone interview early last week for a really good job in an ideal location, and I think I kind of rocked the interview. The next step is the candidates get whittled down to 3 and the organization flies the candidates out to meet board and staff. I haven’t heard anything yet, but haven’t lost hope completely as I figure they’ll probably start whittling things down after...

Oh Sarah, what the fuck is wrong with you?
mnmnj:
So “blood libel” is how she tones down her rhetoric? Really? What won’t Palin throw a pity-party for herself over? Considering the ACTUAL victim is a Jewish woman, that particular phrase is at best poorly chosen, and at worst horribly offensive. Palin, you ridiculous bitch. You are not the victim here. You are the ugly footnote.
Also, while I’m at it: I’m pretty sure god hates...

One semester down, four to go
100% on my Museum Education final paper, and 94% on my Museums in the Digital Age final paper. A in Museum Education, A- in Museums in the Digital Age. Not too shabby. I think it’s interesting that though I liked the content of both classes equally, I enjoyed the Digital Age class a lot more. For some reason, despite difficulties I encountered in the Education class, I did everything...

I love this woman
The wife says “So I know it means I have the mind of a thirteen year old boy, but ‘How To Train Your Dragon’ just sounds dirty to me.”

Interview is scheduled
I submitted my info for the job Tuesday afternoon. By Wednesday morning I have an interview scheduled for next week. Okay, getting a little excited now.
Another perfect job in town
Found out about the opening today, got on it and submitted my info pronto. However, I refuse to get excited about it. Just been burned too many times. Yes, jobs like this do only appear every year or two, but really, I can’t get excited about it.
Blah. So there.

Immigration problem in Canada
The Manitoba Herald as reported by Clive Runnels, August 1, 2010 The flood of American liberals sneaking across the border into Canada has intensified in the past week, sparking calls for increased patrols to stop the illegal immigration. The recent actions of…
ARB for the LOL.
This could be awesome.
Found out last night that a preliminary grant that my company has submitted to the National Science Foundation’s Informal Science Education stream has received an “encourage” notice to submit a full proposal. This is the closest that we have come yet to actually getting one of these grants, which is a key strategy in our plan for the future of the company. When they give an...
Bummer
So the wife says to me:
“You know you’re not gonna score tonight when I snort the nasal spray as we get in bed.”
She’s funny…but, um…

I agree very much with this post but I want to introduce another angle: Should the founding fathers be treated like gospel? (No pun intended.) I can very much accept that we can still go back to writings from the 18th century…
@stuffparty: Indeed! But I’ll add something that I said last night. I’ll...

Just sayin.
Officially dodged that bullet
So, the thing that I wouldn’t talk about a couple of posts ago was a job I was applying for that, had I gotten it, would have meant me moving to DC while my wife stayed here in Ithaca until she finishes her A exams. As you may have noticed, I speak about the possibility of getting the job in the past tense. That’s right, yet another job I didn’t get. I found out officially...

Oooof!
Okay, so most people I know have the school year as the crazy ass time of year. For me, it’s the summer. Which is why I haven’t tumbld so much. This summer I have been working three jobs: 1) My company, Redshift Productions, has been implementing a program called EcoTales, wherein we would lead visitors (children and their parents) in an experience of learning about invasive...
